StandBy is Australia's leading suicide postvention program, dedicated to assisting people and communities bereaved or impacted by suicide. The StandBy program is focused on supporting anyone who has been bereaved or impacted by suicide at ant stage in their lives and is a coordinated community response to assist individuals, families, friends, witnesses, first responders and service providers.It is an integrated response service utilising existing emergency and community support networks, resulting in bereaved people accessing the right support at the right time and place. Working with and communicating  with a wide range of agencies is essential.Consistent with the objectives of StandBy support after suicide and the vision and mission of Social Futures, the StandBy Program Worker will assist and support the StandBy Coordinator to deliver service across the North Coast region, to individuals, families, workplaces and communities who have been bereaved and impacted through suicide.In this position, you will be supporting people to access services in a timely and appropriate manner, including provision of relevant information about available and relevant services. You will have previous experience delivering high quality customer centred individual and/or family therapeutic interventions and/or case managementThe successful candidate will have:A willingness and capacity to embrace the StandBy support after suicide model of postventionRelevant qualifications {minimum Cert IV] in health promotion, human services and/or social scienceExperience / understanding of suicide prevention, intervention and postventionHighly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including reliability and initiative, with demonstrated ability to consult and liaise with a range of stakeholders in various contextsDemonstrated experience in successfully engaging with all people in a culturally competent mannerA willingness to travel on a semi-regular basisThe StandBy North Coast program covers a region from Tweed Heads to Port Macquarie. The position is Grafton  based with access to a company pool car to deliver services across the region.
